Manasota Key
Manasota Key is one of the barrier Islands near Englewood, Fl. It is bordered on the East by the Intercostal waterway of Lemon Bay and on the West by the Gulf of Mexico. Quiet and serene is the best way to describe the Key. It has a mix of single family homes and condos with your choice of waterfront either directly on the Gulf or on Lemon Bay.

Manasota Key is divided between Charlotte and Sarasota Counties. It boasts 4 of the most beautiful beaches in SW Florida. There is one State beach at Stump Pass State Park on the South end of the Key. Charlotte County has a beach park with a boardwalk along the sand dunes with several covered pavilions. You'll find people coming here in the late day just to unwind and perhaps cook on the grills which are available for public use. Sarasota County has two public beaches one about midway through the key and one on the North end of the Key. The beaches are rarely crowded and there's always room for you.
While you're visiting the key, stop in at one of the restaurants. The White Elephant has outside seating on the bayside with full service seating and an outdoor bar. The Gulfview Grill has indoor second floor seating with magnificent Gulf views. The Lock & Key is a popular eating establishment with indoor and outdoor seating. It is directly across from the Charlotte County Beach.

If you're looking for a place to relax then you've found it on Manasota Key. You won't find any large high-rise condo's or overly commercialized areas here.
Enjoy a bike ride along Beach Rd. through the lovely tree canopy in Sarasota County. You can walk the sandy beaches searching for shells or fossilized sharks teeth. Watch the dolphins as they frolic in the water just off the beach.
