Placida, Florida
Placida is located on the Southwest corner of the Cape Haze Peninsula. It features a number of newer condo developments as well as an area of ranch-style homes on the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway.
Placida bring you close to everything. You are close to the golf courses of Rotonda, several marinas and some of the best game-fishing that Florida has to offer. Visit nearby Boca Grande or the shops near the Boca causeway. You'll find good dining at the Fishery or fresh seafood next door at Miss Cindy's. The large open area near the establishment is home to the Rotary Clubs Nautical Festival and separate Sea Food Festival each year.
Jim & Sue Kayaking at Grande Tours

Directly across from the Fishery is Grande Tours where you can rent a kayak and paddle the back waters of Coral Creek. Paddle along the mangroves and watch the mullet jump. See osprey in their nests or as they dive the water to catch their next meal. If you happen to have your own boat, a public ramp is across the street and it puts you in site of the Boca Grande pass where you will find some of the best tarpon fishing in the world. Boca Grand is home of an annual Tarpon tournament that attracts fishermen from around the country.
There are a number of marinas in the area if you should choose to store a boat there. Stump pass marina is a popular meeting place for the locals who frequent their outside restaurant, the Stump Pass Grill. When Rt. 775 curves around and becomes Rt. 771, you will come to the Gasparilla Marina, the largest in the area. It is also home to the Gasparilla Grill.
Continuing North on Rt. 771, you will pass the waterfront community of South Gulf Cove on the East and Rotonda on the West.
